Initially wooed by the pure physicality of the power yoga approach developed for the NFL, my practice and teaching journey has grown vastly over the last 20 years. Though I still love the mind-clearing high of a tough, sweaty practice, I found that adding a true connection between breath and movement exponentially enhanced both the mental and physical¬†benefits of the practice. Working with athletes in my own family and beyond lead to a curiosity about the breath-movement connection in slower flow and recovery practices, and we’ve been excited to see the results of that both on and off the mat. As founder of Salt Power Yoga Studios and Salt Teacher Training program, I’ve had the opportunity to continually learn and develop new approaches to yoga to support all bodies, teaching at studios and workshops around the US. As CrossFit is a mainstay in our own family, I am particularly excited to work with the athletes of CrossFit West Houston.
