CrossFit West Houston WOD
Over the years we have implemented non traditional weighted objects. Learning to lift odd implements provides a new movement map for your body. Not every implement you lift in life will be perfectly balanced like barbells, dumbells, etc. Lifting loads that shift or awkward help you deal with life’s uncertainties.
After Hurricane Harvey, us coaches heard over and over again that lifting stones, sandbags, etc helped them endure the clean up process. In fact over and over again, there were pictures of CrossFitters all over Houston helping with rescues, clean up, demoing damaged houses, etc.
As Mark Rippetoe reminds us:
“Strong people are harder to kill and more useful in general.”
