Someone once told me “Your body will be around a lot longer than that expensive handbag you carry. Invest on yourself”. So what started as a one-day trial at CrossFit West Houston, became an investment in myself. These journeys begin at any size, for me it started at 184lbs, no fitness experience, and really bad eating habits. The gym can be a scary place for newbies, especially when all you see are really chiseled pros. But once I overcame that fear it was addicting. The way my body, mind, energy levels, and eating habits has transformed since I joined the gym back in August 2013 up to now, is incredible.
At CrossFit West Houston, coaches have the aptitude to let you see on your own what your body and mind are capable of doing. The way you think has more power over what you accomplish in life than you realize. Stay positive and don’t lean on others for motivation. It has to come from within.
In this CrossFit Community you’ll hear the term “Paleo” quite a bit. Well as a newbie, I had no idea what this meant. I then began doing research and found a program called Whole 30. And for me, this is the program that worked. Don’t get me wrong, I had my cheating moments, but that’s what makes this program more of a lifestyle than a diet. I’ve enjoyed researching new Paleo recipes, and really experimenting with it.
Discipline teaches us to say no to some things for now, so we can say yes to them later. In this case with food, we say yes with MODERATION after reaching our goals. Stop QUITTING. Keep being consistent and keep up the discipline. It WILL pay off.
