Compete
Registration for this year’s CrossFit Games Open starts February 1st. For those of you that competed in the CFWH Civil War earlier this month, this will give you another opportunity to get your competitive juices flowing. And if you’ve yet to experience a CrossFit competition, this will be a great way to get your feet wet.
Also, if you hate running, you’re in luck because these WODs are typically created to be done indoors with standard movements and equipment. Win. Burpees, on the other hand, are another story…
What to Expect
The competition lasts five weeks and consists of one workout per week. All workouts will be done at the gym on Saturday mornings. We had a great showing last year and we’re looking to get an even bigger group together to come out and join us for what’s sure to be some tough workouts and a lot of fun.
Here are a few more details about the competition:
Be Part of Our Team
The cool part of the open is that although you sign up to compete as an individual athlete, you’re also competing as part of our CFWH Affiliate Team.
The top 3 male and top 3 female scores from that week’s workout will count towards our team’s score. That means the more athletes we get to sign up, the better our chances for moving on.
Last year, our gym was extremely successful, finishing with an 8th place showing at the South Central Regionals in Tomball. We want to give all of you guys a chance to take our team back to Regionals, and hopefully one step further to the Games this year. If our team qualifies, we’ll be sending the top 3 ranked males and females to represent CFWH. This will be based purely on your overall ranking at the conclusion of the Open.
On Saturday March 24th, after the fifth Open WOD, we’ll cap it all off with a little get together to celebrate. We may even throw a fun team WOD in there! What better way to celebrate being done with working out than with a workout, right?
So to sum this all up, I want to get as many CFWH competitors as possible for this thing. We saw some unbelievable performances at Racked n’ Loaded this year and can’t wait to see some more. If you’re on the fence, just do it. Our team needs you!
Besides, all the cool kids are doing it.
If you’ve got any questions at all, feel free to shoot an e-mail to ryancfwh@gmail.com.
