Come try out Yoga Saturday June 26th at 10:00 AM..
Class Description:
Laura has studied under a Baptiste Power Vinyasa certified instructor. Her classes incorporate the Baptiste sequence while mixing up the flow so that each class offers a new experience. The vinyasa style of yoga focuses on linking movement with the breath, allowing students to come out of their minds and be fully present in their bodies. This class is more than just a post-workout stretch– we will balance, focus, and incorporate fun, challenging postures that will help take your crossfit to the next level. Benefits of the class include increased flexibility, strength and balance, detoxification, a cardiovascular workout and the ability to find a sense of ease when working at your edge.
Adding yoga to your regular crossfit routine will create a physical balance in your body as it opens up all the major joints and lengthens tight muscles. A consistent yoga practice will enhance your WOD performance by increasing your body awareness and improving coordination. Additionally, the mental aspect provides the perfect opportunity to release the competitive energy built up during crossfit workouts. All levels are welcome to participate!
Please make sure to bring your own yoga mat, a mat-sized towel (to put over the mat so that you don’t slide when you start sweating), and water.
Bio:
Laura has always maintained an active lifestyle. She played tennis through college and over the past few years has experimented with a wide range of physical activities. Laura has found power vinyasa yoga to be the most fulfilling practice that she has encountered. She finds the asana practice to be a fun and challenging way to work and heal the entire body. Additionally, she has experienced noticeable benefits in her mind and spirit. Through her regular practice, Laura has discovered that stress is optional, and that real happiness can be found regardless of circumstance.
With fun and balance as her top two priorities, Laura is committed to living a happy, healthy, well-rounded life and inspires others to do the same. As a yoga teacher, Laura supports a laid-back, fun, and non-competitive environment and shares the passion she has received from her own practice. Laura embodies an attitude of ‘work hard, play hard,’ and encourages her students to find that balance, both on and off the mat.
Laura is looking forward to joining the CFWH community and adding more WODs to her daily yoga practice. She knows that crossfit and yoga are a winning combination and looks forward to working with and being inspired by the athletes at CFWH.
