Sleep!
Sleep is one of the most underrated tools to improve performance and recovery. It is so important that early man still slept even though they did not have the secure environment of houses, locks, and security systems. Early man was low on the food chain more prey than predator, and yet from sundown to sunup […]

No exercise today (Rob’s orders) but I spent many hours in the kitchen, becoming Paleo ready. I have Mediterranean Fish Stew, Crockpot London Broil and vegetables, kale chips, tons of cut up fruit, and unsweetened almond and coconut milk all done and ready for the rest of the week. Whew!
BTW, Central Market has EVERYTHING you need for all of the Paleo recipes: almond meal/flour, unsweetened coconut and almond milks, freshly ground nut butters, etc.

Yum! Just had some kale chips. Seriously good.
Get a bunch of kale, wash and dry it, then peel the leaf away from the stem into bite sized pieces. Toss in a little olive oil, spread it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and sprinkle with sea salt, then bake at 350 for about 13-15 minutes. I turned off the oven and left it all in there to cool. They are crispy and salty and very very yummy.

Skill Work today to get ready for this weekend’s competition.
I did get 95 double unders unbroken today… just short of my goal of 100.
Came across a pretty cool video on barefoot running today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jrnj-7YKZE

No weights or real WODs today- tapering down until competition this weekend!
Ran through PVC skill work, then did 3 x (30 DUs and 30 ab mat sit ups). Then Trigger Point Therapy to see if it could work it’s magic on my tight muscles.
Oh yah- and did my first one-handed handstand against the wall :). That’s for you Jake!

I didn’t see my time! but I got quite a few of
my DUs unbroken (for me, unbroken is a DU and one between). Did 85# but failed at 90. Kills the wrists! And did some one-handed stands as well 😉 Just cooked enough food for the rest of the week too.
