I found this post from Freddie C. at CrossFit One World. This is a subject that I have been thinking about a lot lately……Technique. CrossFit is a great program, one that I love and cherish. We get excellent results with CrossFit because of the movements. Sure we love to go fast and do crazy workouts, but the real magic in the movements. In CrossFit we want to hold ourselves to standards…..very high standards. Sometimes the stop watch is good and bad, in our quest for “a great time” we forget to do the movements to a full range of motion. Sure there are times when we have an injury or flexibility issue that inhibits our ability to fully lock out each postion. But we must continue to strive for perfection in our movement. This is not always easy…but CrossFit is not easy. That is why we do it.
As a coach it is my job to correct form by cueing when I see it. I want all athletes to move better and more efficiently. This will help bring the time down and be safe at the same time. The movement should look the same whether I am looking at you or not looking at you. We want to record the best time with the best technique, that is CrossFit
