Future Selves and Inspiration

By Rob | In Workouts | on July 8, 2009

It has been ten years since I entered into the fitness industry as a trainer. In those ten years I have experienced many different fitness options programs etc.  Much of fitness tends to focus on vanity, the whole look better naked type thing.  I always believed and believe it even more now then ever, that fitness is and should be about much more. How about better health? Better mobiity? Quality of life? etc.

With CrossFit, while it is a sport where we compete against ourselves, the clock, other athletes, it is still a fundamental fitness program that improves the quality and performance of life.

Again Faster has a great article called Future Selves about this. What do you want your future self to be like? For me I want to be like Jacinto Bonilla a 69 year old bad a$$ level 2 CrossFit trainer at CrossFit NYC the Black Box. CrossFit.com has a video in the CF journal about him, he competed in the CrossFit Games last year….amazing!
