Crossfit Testimonial:
I want to start out by saying…I LOVE CROSSFIT! I have been able to
completely change my body and lean out to the size I want to be thanks
to CROSSFIT and the ZONE DIET! I was one of those people that did
everything to stay in shape. I worked out every day at the gym taking
kick boxing, spinning or circuit classes. I ran mile after mile and
tried diet after diet only to never budge past 150 pounds wearing a size
6. I just sort of assumed that this was my “natural size” and I would
never shed those unwanted fat pockets on my hips, thighs and midsection.
Well, I was totally wrong…that wasn’t the size I was meant to be at
all!
One of my co-workers told me about Crossfit and urged me to try it. At
first I was skeptical…I mean how could I see results doing such quick
work outs? So, I said…I will try and see how it goes…well…the
first work out changed my life and my out look on working out and
eating! Not only was Crossfit a great work out, but it was fun and
there were great people to support you along the way! I totally have
taken a huge gulp of the kool-aid!
Within the first 6 weeks, I noticed I was stronger and leaner! I was
able to drop a few pounds (gaining more muscle mass). Then, that same
co-worker started talking about the Paleo and the Zone Diet. I thought,
if I am going to do this, I am going to do it…so, I researched each
diet and started the Zone Diet in conjunction with Crossfit. Well, that
is when I dropped an amazing amount of weight…20 pounds, to be exact!
I am totally shocked by the results. The Zone Diet is SUPER easy to
follow and I feel amazingly satisfied! I also feel stronger and
healthier!
I am currently weighing in at 130 pounds and wearing a size 2, thanks to
Crossfit and the Zone Diet! These two combine to make a perfect formula
to be the size I want to be…never again will I accept any notion of
“natural size” as an excuse. I am thankful to my co-worker for
encouraging me to try Crossfit and thankful for Rob to making each WOD
well worth waking up at 4:30 am!

I wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much I’ve appreciated and
enjoyed the workouts so far. Its definitely unlike any other workout that
I’ve ever done. That said, it has also yielded tremendous, measurable
results unlike past workout programs. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my
body weight distribution since I coupled the workouts with the
“Zone”. I worked out 12 out 19 days and ate “In the Zone” for the last 8
days of that. Over that time I lost 8 lbs, 1 inch in my waist, and 2%
body fat! Thanks for the articles and the advice.
See ya again tomorrow.

I love Crossfit! I started out only 2x/week for the first 4 weeks because I began just 8 weeks after having my son via C-section. After the first month, I decided to do 3x/week and it has really made a difference. I am 40 years old, so I was affraid that it would take forever to get my “body back” after having my 1st child. Well, I am now 4 months out and am back in the smallest jeans that I had before pregnancy, which was also the best shape I have ever been in. I attribute it to Crossfit and Zone-”ish” dieting, which I would have never done without Crossfit. I used to run about 30 miles a week to stay thin and in shape, now I only run a few times a week and do a lot less mileage, but am actually faster. I can tell a huge difference in strength, muscle definition and how much more lean I am. It’s crazy to think/know that you can achieve these type of results in such relatively short daily workouts.
It also makes a difference in work-out confidence. The wod’s are VERY challenging and I get a big high and a sense of pride in completing them. I HIGHLY recommend CFWH. If you try it, you will be immediately hooked!

I was one of this athletes who thought they were “in shape” before Crossfit. I could run a couple of miles if you asked me to, sprint, lift weights, etc. I had no idea, however, what it meant to have true athletic endurance before I began Crossfit, and just how versatile my athletic ability could be.
In November 2008 I decided I wanted to run half marathons. I had a lot of weight on me from rugby in college and wanted desperately to lose some before I put my body through 13.1 miles. I worked out for about 2 hours 5 days a week until my first race in January. I lost a couple of pounds and managed to actually finish the race, though not easily. Then I signed up for my next one to run in July 2009 and vowed to get better. I also had some rugby events I wanted to get faster for so I continued training for nearly 2 hours a day. Between January and July 2009 I lost about 7 more pounds, for a total of 10 since November. I beat my half marathon time in July, but just barely. I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere with my body.
So then I found Crossfit. I had heard about it before and even completed a few of the “easier” mainsite workouts before, but with no vigor or intensity. I committed to Crossfit in August 2009 and thus begins the easy part of my story. I have seen nothing but improvements since I began. I have gone 4-5 times a week for over 5 months now. I have lost about 32 pounds in that time frame, lost close to 20 inches around my thighs, arms, an waist. I have definition in my arms and back that I didn’t think would ever happen to me. All of my old clothes fall off of me, and I’ve had to go down in pants and dress sizes a couple of times in these 5 months. I’ve only ran distance (more than 3 miles) once a week since August and just completed the Dallas Half with ease, and a 16 minute PR. I’m faster, stronger, and more versatile in my abilities (I NEVER would’ve guessed I could do pull-ups!).
Thanks Rob, and thanks Crossfit West Houston!

I started Crossfit in September of 2009, approximately 3 months before my wedding. My goal was to lose 10 pounds. I went to classes three days a week, jogged at Memorial park one day a week and watched what I ate and the weight flew off of me. When it was all said and done, I lost nearly 17 pounds. My wedding dress fit me like a glove!! Not to mention, I felt great, looked great and didn’t get tired walking up the flight of stairs at my own wedding.
At first I was scared that the classes would be too hard, but the workouts are tailored to your own personal abilities, so you’re never in over your head. But trust me, you’ll be amazed at how fast you’ll excel and be able to do things you never thought you could do. If you’re looking for a quick, easy and fun way to shed some pounds, get toned and get into shape, try Crossfit! You’ll thank yourself when you see those pictures, because we all know what that camera does!! : )
